The World Bank ranked Nepal in 98/184 position in terms of Nominal GDP in 2019 with Nominal GDP of $30.641 billion. Nepal has achieved an average of 7 percent economic growth in the last three years and that of 4.6 percent in the last decade. Per capita income by the end of fiscal year 2018/19 remains $1035 and expected to reach $1085 by the end of fiscal year 2019/20. Agriculture remains the mainstay of Nepalese economy with the contribution of 26.9 percent in the GDP of the fiscal year 2018/19. Moreover, about 65 percent of people are believed to be engaged in agriculture. Another crucial pillar of Nepalese economy is the remittance and foreign employment as Nepal received the remittance totaling Rs 879.3 billion in the fiscal year 2018/19.
