Political System
Nepal is a multiparty democracy where the party with majority in both the national assembly and house of representatives forms the government in the center. Federal government is formed on the backing of the majority of the members of the federal parliament. A total of 275 seats are at federal parliament, of which 165 are directly elected and rest 110 are elected proportionately. On the other hand 59 members remain in the national assembly. A cabinet having no more than 25 ministers is led by an executive prime minister. The President of Nepal is constitutional with limited authorities.
